13th Annual

Breakin' Up Winter

March 7-9, 2008

Were you with there?

This is our fantastic annual music retreat at beautiful Cedars of Lebanon State Park outside Nashville, Tennessee, a gathering of old-time music lovers from around the country who come to learn, jam, dance, sing, hike, eat, and just sit round talking about the music we all love.

Click for 2005 BUW Photo AlbumThe weekend included:

  • Roots of Old-Time Music presentations by
    • James and Rachel Bryan
    • Evan Hatch
    • Gerry Milnes
    • Jeff Todd Titon
  • Jams with the guest performers -
  • Charlie Acuff was back with us and was awarded the 1st Annual Heritage Award
  • Cylinder recording sessions
  • Slow jams
  • Silent Auction
  • Contra dance conducted by Susan Kevra
  • John Hatton's immense collection of hard-to-find old-time music CDs
  • Jamming, jamming, and more jamming
  • And great food from our caterer, The Mad Platter, returning for an encore after providing some great grub last year. (It's not your ordinary grub, for sure.)
