Breakin' Up Winter

March 7-9, 2008

We hope you were with us last March or our fantastic annual music retreat at Cedars of Lebanon State Park outside Nashville, Tennessee, a gathering of old-time music lovers from around the country who came to learn, jam, dance, sing, hike, eat, and just sit round talking about the music we all love.

Last March's retreat included:

• Roots of Old-Time Music presentations by George Gruhn, Kerry Blech, and Joyce Cauthen.
• Jams with guest performers
• Old-time recording demonstration
• Slow jams
• Contra dance
• Workshop on playing for contra dances
• John Hatton's immense collection of hard-to-find old-time music CDs
• Jamming, jamming, and more jamming
• And great food from our caterer, The Mad Platter, returning for an encore after providing some great grub last year. (It's not your ordinary grub, for sure.)
